Dopo aver raggiunto il primo posto in classifica sia in Inghilterra che negli Stati Uniti stracciando ogni record di vendita, in Italia i Mumford & Sons hanno conquistato con 'Babel' il quinto posto tra gli album più venduti. Anticipato dal singolo 'I Will Wait', questo secondo album conferma il successo planetario che la giovane band ha raggiunto in pochi anni. 

Sold out registrati ovunque in giro per il mondo, tra cui gli ultimi due concerti estivi in Italia, a Verona e Ancona. In occasione dell’uscita di questo nuovo album e del loro tour europeo, i Mumford & Sons faranno tappa in Italia per tre imperdibili date a Milano, Firenze e Roma.

Ecco una dichiarazione della band sul nuovo album:  “We are more than excited to release Babel into the world. We had started writing new songs well before we got into the studio to record. At first, we peeled ourselves off the road quite reluctantly. We love playing live, obviously, but it had also become an important part of our creative process, we had been writing and rehearsing in soundchecks, and sort of the road-testing the new songs on our very gracious audiences. But then we fell in love with recording again. The album started to come together, and with the help of Markus Dravs once more (and engineer Robin Baynton), we started to relish the challenge of making this album. As a band, we have never been closer or more collaborative, all working to our strengths. And so we feel that this record is a natural progression that we’re proud of, and we cannot wait to take it out on the road.”

Una delle novità è che alcune canzoni su Babel sono state registrate dal vivo, è lì che emerge la potenza della band! Più di ogni altra cosa, vi è un vero e proprio senso di completezza su Babel, una totalità soddisfacente e una sorta di ricchezza lirico musicale - romanticismo temperato dalla forza e dal vigore, bilanciato dalla bellezza.
